Calendars, Video Calls & Cloud Storage

Digital calendars and invitations, video meetings and their manners, and managing files in cloud storage.

⌨️ Start with your 10-minute typing warm-up

By the end, you will be able to:

  • Create a calendar event with a date, time, reminder and video link, invite people, and accept or decline an invitation.
  • Join a video meeting by link or code, use mute, camera, chat, raise hand and share screen, and follow meeting manners (on time, muted, quiet place, safe background, links kept private).
  • Use cloud storage to make folders, upload and download files, understand sync and storage limits, and sign out safely on a shared computer.

Your path ·

Follow these steps in order

Tick each step when you finish it. Your ticks are saved on this device, so you can stop and come back later.

  1. Learn the ideas ⏱️ 35 min

Read pages 1–4 of the workbook and try every small task. Type your answers straight into the boxes: they save by themselves.

    📖 Open the workbook
  2. Explore the 3D lab ⏱️ 15 min

Play with the 3D model below. The 🎯 missions tell you exactly what to do next. When you finish every mission, this step ticks itself.

Go to the 3D lab ↓
  3. Do the Lab Mission ⏱️ 25 min

Page 5 is the hands-on task. Do it on a real computer, step by step. You need: internet and the Hub's learning account.

    📖 Open page 5
  4. Check yourself ⏱️ 10 min

Answer the questions on page 6 without looking back, then check your answers below.

    Finished? Check your answers

Weekly grid (Page 2): answers vary. Look for at least one entry a day, sensible times and a reminder for the club meeting.

Your turn (Page 4): 5 GB is about 5,000 MB; 5,000 ÷ 100 = about 50 videos (a little less in real life, because some space is already used).

Lab table (Page 5): for example: folder TechClub_OpenDay_Team3 shared as Editor with the team; "Open Day planning meeting", Tuesday next week, 4:00–4:30 pm; reminder 30 minutes before; 3 yes, 1 maybe; used mute, camera, hand, chat and share; signed out.

    Scenario Decisions (Page 6)

    1. Ama adds a reminder one day before: Good idea.
    2. Kofi posts the meeting link on his public page: Bad idea (strangers can join and disrupt it).
    3. Esi stays muted until it is her turn: Good idea.
    4. Yaw leaves the Hub PC signed in to Drive: Bad idea (the next person can open his files).
    5. Naa turns her camera off on a weak signal: Good idea (saves data and keeps the call working).

    Written Review Questions

    1. Any two: you can open the files from any computer or phone; they are safe if your PC breaks or is lost; teammates can share and work on the same files; sync keeps one up-to-date copy everywhere.
    2. Reply No (Decline), and add a short message if you can, so the organiser knows you are not coming and can plan, or move the meeting.
  5. Rate yourself and save your work ⏱️ 5 min

Tick how confident you feel on the last page, then press 🖨 Print / Save as PDF in the workbook to keep a copy. On a shared computer, press Clear my answers when you have saved it.

Stuck? Try this

📖 Read it again, slowly

Most problems are one missed word. Look for the Panic Button or Help box in the workbook.

🧊 The 3D lab won't load?

Refresh the page. On a very old computer it may not show 3D. The workbook still has everything you need.

💾 My answers disappeared?

Answers save on the computer you typed them on. Open the workbook on that same computer and browser.

🤝 Still stuck?

Ask your mentor, a teacher or a friend. Show them the step number you are on.
